Cork AUL Division 2 ’11/’12

League 2: Ard Na Laoi, Ballincollig, Ballinhassig A, Blackpool Celtic, Casement Celtic, Cfc Banteer, City Wanderers, De Courcey Albion, Killowen, Macroom B, Rylane Celtic, Waterloo.

Division 2 looks a tough one for the Courcey men this season as they face alot of old adversories. Ard Na Laoi, Ballinhassig, Banteer & Macroom B all played Division 3 football only 2 seasons ago with Albion. There will be some long sunday morning trips to Banteer, Macroom & Rylane in particular.

Albion will be looking to hold their own in the league this season. 2 up & 2 down from this division will make it interesting, plus the fact that only champions go up from Division 3 will ensure all teams in Division 2 will be doing their best to avoid the drop.

O’DRISCOLL SHOWS BRAVE FACE FOR QUEEN VISIT

James O’Driscoll has put on a brave face for the visit of the Queen to Ballinadee Park this morning. It was rumoured O’Driscoll wouldn’t show after manager Martin Ryan refused to turn up amid allegations over Guus Hiddinks now imminent installation as Albion number 1.There was also no sign of Kevin O’Neill who has been reported to be suffering a severe hangover.

The queen was impressed with the facilities in Ballinadee and even helped clear the sheep from the pitch before hand. O’Driscolls meeting with the queen lasted for over an hour and he remained upbeat about his future. “I dont know whats going on with the management situation. I’m hearing the board room are unhappy we didnt land the title but sure what can ya do. These things happen and i’ll just get on with continuing to be the best left back at the club as I have been since 1998, fair play to me.”

The queen flaked off shortly after.

MANAGERIAL RUMOURS RIFE AT ALBION

Martin Ryan & James O’Driscolls future as part of the management at Albion looks in doubt today as Albion chairman Kevin O’Neill was spotted with Guus Hiddink leaving Hurleys in Ballinspittle singing rebel songs and cracking jokes about Ryan & O’Driscoll. O’Neill seemed to have Albion contractual papers in his hand and people within the club are saying O’Neill bumped into Hiddink recently and invited him to see the facilities in Ballinadee. This led to a full blown piss up where O’Neill convinced the dutch man to sign a 3 year contract in which Hiddink has promised that Albion will play Premier football in the AUL within that time frame.

Ryan & O’Driscoll are keeping quiet about the matter with a €50 pay off being rumoured which will come in handy for their player registration fee in July.
