Albion 2-0 Macroom

De Courcey Albion today picked up a deserved 3points at home with a 2-0 win over a strong Macroom side. Macroom enjoyed the percentage of possession overall but rarely threatened as the back four with the holding midfield cutting out any threat. Albion took the lead through Rob Daly who cut inside from the left and finished in the bottom left passed the keeper. Daly was unlucky not to get a second after some good play with attacking midfielder Tim Harrington. 1-0 half time.

Albion started well in the second half again with Ger O’Connell acting as the stand in holding mid for the day Put in some crunching tackles. Macroom came close with a strike which Walshy dived well to save. Macroom had numerous chances from countless corners in the last 15 but Albion defended in numbers. With 1 minute to go Tim Harrington played a superb ball over the top which Jamie Daly latched onto And sealed the victory with a strike passed the keeper.

Team. Walshy in goal, Martin R right full, Jody left full, Deccy and Colm centre half, James, Ger and Tim in midfield, rob on the left wing, Darren on the right (Jamie replaced Darren on ’75), Martin El up front.
