We’ve kicked our last ball, scored our last goal, played our last game, De Courcey Albion are no more.

For a variety of reasons we were unable to field a team for the coming season.

This isn’t the first time the club has folded, so hopefully we’ll be back strong again sometime soon!

RUMOURS OF HURLEY RETURN REACHES O’DRISCOLL

James O’Driscoll last night caught hold of the rumours that Conor Hurley may be in line to return to Albion this season. The two left backs famously had bust up after bust up during the 2010/2011 promotion season but Hurley left at the beginning of last season in his pursuit of happiness. O’Driscoll enjoyed his best season in an Albion shirt last season but the heirarchy at the club are worried that this news may effect him. O’Driscoll was pictured last night (above) after he got word of the rumours. More to follow….

Goal of the Season Choices

It’s hard to believe it’s that time of the season again but here are the choices for goal of the season. There’s been some fantastic goals this season so there’s 10 to pick from.

1. Martin El Sahen Vs St John Boscos.

A fantastic team goal with a superb headed finish from El-sahen. The goal stemmed from 2 touch ball in our own half as we trailed 2-0 after 7 mins. Rob to spud to Noel who switched wings to Conan who crossed first time for mart to climb and finish with a superb header into the top right.

2. John Duggan Vs Glounthane

Duggys first game for Albion this season, 1-1 with 8 mins to go in extra time, Duggy came on as a sub and with one of his first touches finished a fantastic half volley out of nowhere to beat the keeper and send Albion thought to round 2 of the AOH Cup.

3. Ben Dillon Vs Ard Na Laoi

A massive contender for goal of the season as Dillon brought the ball from inside his own half forward and struck a sweet right footer from 25 yards to send the Albion sideline into elation.

4. Tim Harrington Vs Ballinhassig

Timmy has so far grabbed 31 goals with this being one of the stand out goals, once again a team effort which allowed Tim through and struck a fantastic low shot from just inside the corner of the 18 yard box to give the hassig keeper no hope.

5. JP Hayes Vs Killowen

Japs has had his best season in an Albion shirt and this goal topped it for him. With tim and Conan screaming for a cross, japs decided they would go fuck themselves as he brought the ball onto his left foot and stuck the ball in the top right from easily 30 yards.

6. Tim Harrington Vs Macroom B

Tim brought Albion level with this goal against Macroom B early in the season with a in swinging free kick which looked as though it was on the way over the bar. A great curling finish!

7. JP Hayes Vs Shandon Celtic

Japs had noticed his manager was taking notes when he flicked the ball over the defender on the edge of the box and finished with a half volley to put Albion 5-1 up.

8. Tim Harrington Vs Ard Na Laoi

Tim’s manager was about to ask him what the fuck he was doing when he placed the ball almost on the sideline for a free kick and ran up to hit for goal, the manager was then lucky the hadn’t opened his mouth as the ball went flying over the wall and in under the crossbar for one of the best finishes of the season.

9. John Duggan Vs UCC

Once again a sub appearance for Duggy who controlled with his right, took it on his left and finished top left to put Albion 6-1 up.

10. Martin El Sahen Vs City Wanderers

El sahen latched onto the assist of the season (no contest, it was the assist of the season) to hold off the defender the turned on his way down and shot to finish bottom right. A proper strikers goal.

Hipwell Injury Setback

On behalf of all at De Courcey Albion, we would like to wish John Hipwell a speedy recovery on a long term knee injury he suffered during the game vs Park Utd B. Hipwell has played a massive part of Albions season to date and will be sorely missed. We hope to see him in the red & white for the beginning of the ’12/’13 season.

FRANTASTIC PLOT FOILED

Timmy Harrington was put through the wars yesterday after his brother Frans terror plot was foiled. Tim, who now stands on 20 goals for the season, is only 7 goals shy of the all time goal scoring record in a season which his brother holds. Fran who re-signed for the Albion 2 weeks ago took Tim completely out of it as he ran through on goal to grab number 21 for the season. Fran is currently being questioned by management at the club who are staying tight-lipped on the whole situation. Tim is staying fat-lipped about it.

FRANTASTIC SIGNING AT ALBION

De Courcey Albions all time top scorer is re-signing for the club for the remainder of the season in a Thierry Henry-esque maneuver by Albions management. The move is expected to increase revenue at the clubs next game in Eli Lilly. Harrington retired from the Albion in 2005 and hasn’t featured since but is likely to feature in the red shirt once more over the coming weeks.
