County Cup 2nd Round – De Courcey Albion Vs Innishvilla

This is a rare chance at a local derby in terms of junior club soccer in the AUL for De Courcey Albion. Albion host neighbours Innishvilla this sunday morning in the 2nd round of the county cup. Innishvilla will be firm favorites going into the clash as they are currently 2nd in Cork AUL Div 2 compared with Albion who lie 7th in Div 3. Albion will go into the game with confidence after a spirited performance in their defeat to Dunbar last week.

The home team are however missing some key players through injury.

ALBION Vs Dunbar Celtic

De Courcey Albion take on Dunbar Celtic this sunday feb 14th at 10.45am at Eli Lilly. Albion are searching for their 1st league win in 2010 while Dunbar are looking to close the gap on 1st placed Brooklodge. Earlier in the season Dunbar won this reverse fixture 2-1 in a close encounter that saw Albion unlucky not to come away with a point. The home side will be missing their most experienced player Declan Murray but John Duggan returns from his 1 match suspension.

This sunday the 10th of January sees De Courcey Albions 2009/2010 squad face up to the 1999 team who won the league cup. The match will hold standard friendly rules but will be far from a friendly as the 1999 team will want to still prove their worth to their younger counterparts. On the other hand the newest crop of players wont want to slip up as their is pride at stake here.

Expect to see the likes of Padraig “Scratch” Harrington, Fran Harrington, Lester Hurley, Seamus Twomey, Brian Hayes, Liam Twomey, John Galvin, Nelius Murray, Sean Hayes, Sean Moloney, Michael O’Donovan, Denis White & more don the Albion jersey once more as they pace their footballing wits against the likes of John Duggan, Colm O’Donovan, Michael “Human Salmon” Walsh, Seamus “Southgate” O’Callaghan, Ronnie O’Driscoll, Ger O’Connell, Jody MacNamara, Declan Murray, James O’Driscoll, Dave Butler & the rest of the new squad.

There will be a fund raising raffle after the game at Hurleys in Ballinspittle & match presentations.
