Albion 2-4 Crescent

Overpowered, outplayed and 10 minutes of defensive madness is what can describe De Courcey Albions 4-2 defeat to Crescent in Ballinadee last night. Albions first league defeat in Ballinadee in 10 years came about as to be honest, the better team on the night won. Albion did get a break early on as Conan Dillon was brought down in the box. Unfortunately Tim Harringtons penalty was saved by the keeper. Deserving to be a few up at half time, Crescent piled the pressure on for the entire first half as Albions defence held out to 0-0 at half time. Pushing on in the second half Albion were caught open at the back on 3 occassions in 10 minutes to make it 3-0 15 minutes into the second half. Ben Dillon pulled 1 back with 20 to go. Then Tim Harringtons wonder free kick hit the top corner giving the keeper no hope with 10 to go making it 3-2. Crescent were awarded a penalty after Deccy Murray brought their striker down. Walsh was unlucky not to get a hand to it. 4-2 full time.

Team: Walsh, D Daly, O’Driscoll, Murray, O’Donovan, J Daly (El-Sahen ’45), Twomey, Ryan (Dunne ’70),  C Dillon, B Dillon, Harrington.
