Macroom 2-4 Albion

Albion made it two wins in two with a decent 4-2 away victory against a resilient Macroom side in Macroom Town Park. It started badly when’s floating ball over the top left keeper Deccy Murray with little to do but watch the ball fall to the forwards feet who found himself free to notch Macroom into the lead with about 10mins played. Albion were back in it from a corner, when James delivered a perfect cross to find Rob Dalys head to make it 1-1. Dan Galvin was playing a starring role owning midfield with tireless energy.

The second half was one where Albion would dominate heavily. Tim Harrington made his first appearance since last November and within 6 minutes of his entrance Albion were 2-1 up when he found himself 1 on 1 with the keeper with an assist from Rob, to finish low right. Albion went 3-1 up when a brilliantly crafted ball from Japs deceived the Macroom back 4 to find Rob who fired home. Gally was unlucky when Macrooms keeper made a great save a few minutes later. He did get on the scoresheet when he took it past a couple of defenders and put it past the keeper, though Macroom had gotten one back before hand with a perfect left strike past Murray. Macroom had a chance to decrease the deficit moments later when they blasted a penalty a mile over the bar.
