Albion 2-1 Boscos

Albion booked their slot in rd 3 of the county cup today with a tough 2-1 win over a hard tackling St. John Boscos side. Boscos started well creating some chances and causing trouble for Albions full backs with long passes into the corners for the speedy wingers. It was Albion who opened the scoring with a fantastic strike from Daniel Galvin who got his second of the season after beating two players before pulling the trigger and firing into the top corner. Boscos were awarded a penalty minutes later when a soft pass at the back let their striker through who got the better of Deccy who was deemed to have fouled in the area. 1-1 half time.

The second half was mostly in Albions favour with nice passing play using Japs and Noely on the wings.they were 2-1 up when japs finished off a scrappy goalmouth scramble between the defender and keeper for his fourth of the season. Boscos were then down to ten men after a wild challenge on japs saw a second yellow for their centre half. Boscos didn’t sit back, they attacked but caused just one save from Walshy. Albion broke well on the counter and twice we’re nearly in firstly with Rob but the keeper was on hand to save. The second chance came when Daly had just the keeper to beat and opted to pass into Japs who shot narrowly over the bar.

A much needed win for Albion who play Banteer in the last 16 next Saturday in Banteer.
