Albions hope of promotion are over as, for a second consecutive year, Ballincollig beat them to end their quest for 2nd place in the league. Albion looked sharper than their opposition going forward throughout though one or two mistakes cost the Courcey men in the end. Dan Galvin & Ben Dillon enjoyed the share of possession in midfield throughout the ninety minutes but chances were slim in the final third. Rob Daly showed some glimpses of his form from the start of the season with skilfull play that could have led to a couple of goals. He was unlucky twice himself as the keeper made a fantastic goal-line save in the final minutes. Ballincolligs goal came from a corner when the ball was only half cleared. The Ballincollig left back latched onto it and when he was given loads of space & time he hoofed the ball that went in to the top left corner. Ballincollig had fewer chances in the second half though their striker should have put them 2 up when Albion produced a goal line clearance of their own.
A dissapointing result, though Albion will look to finish in 4th in the league from now in. This would better last years end position.
