Albion 2-2 CFC Banteer

Albion pulled a great 2nd half comeback out of the bag today after being 2-0 down at half time. Banteer were the stronger of the teams in the first half winning 90% off ball in the air and passing the ball well using some good combinations. Albion held at the back though until the 40th minute when an overhead kick provided an assist to the Banteer striker who finished past Steve Nyhan in goal. 3 minutes later it was 2-0 to Banteer after a deflected ball fell to the feet of the Banteer player who struck the ball well past Nyhan. 2-0 half time.

Albion opened the second half very well attacking straight from the tip off with Johnathan Quinn, John Duggan & James O’Driscoll getting their own passing going. On 55mins Duggan picked the ball up from his own half beating 3-4 players on his way to a shot from 18yards finishing superbly in the bottom left. 2-1. Duggan & Tim Harrington both had chances to equalise but the more the time went on the more it looked as though Banteer would hold on for the win. Centre halves Dec Murray & Ger O’Connell were having a blinder in the 2nd half limiting the Banteer attacks and preventing any more chances. Albion got a corner in injury time which Jamie Daly swung in to find the head of Rob Daly who heading home to leave the result at 2-2.
