Strand UTD 3-2 Albion

Albion suffered a 3-2 defeat last night to newly promoted Strand UTD however, the away side were leading 2-1 with 1 minute of normal time remaining. Albion controlled the game start to finish and were 1-0 up in the first half after Tim Harrington opened his account when Martin El-sahen played a ball through leaving Timmy for just a tap-in. Right at the start of the second half albion went 2-0 up when Jonathan Quinn controlled the ball in midfield and played the ball over the top for Timmy again who flciked the ball over the defencers head and struck into the bottom left for a cracking goal. Strand pulled one back and with 1 minute left scored the equaliser. Strand were reduced to 10 men shortly after when the player followed through on Michael Walsh leaving him in a heap. Almost 5 minutes of injury time were played when Strand scored the winner from a header, a dubious decision on the referees part to play 5 minutes of injury time though Albion came home with nothing. Positives from the game were the performances of debutants Jonathan Quinn & Ben O’Donnell.
