The slim hope of promotion was dashed for Albion last night in a lack-lustre game in Ballincollig. It took 50 minutes for the games first real incident with a break through from Jp Hayes who crossed to leave both Timmy & Martin El just shy of a touch. With 25 minutes to go Albion went 1-0 up after a superb through ball from Colm O’Donovan to Timmy who ran through for his 31st of the season. Ballincollig were back at 1-1 when their defender found himself free at a corner to head home. Albion were 2-1 down after their winger broke through to slot past Martin Ryan in goal. Timmy was unlucky not to make it 2-2 when their defender raced acrros as Harrington pulled the trigger for a last ditch tackle. Ryan kept Albion in it with a 2 legged save low to his left and 2 mins later another save in a 1 on 1. Japs struck the bar with a rising shot and Ben came close with a left footed effort just before he was taken off injured.
A dissappointing result for Albion who will now look to taking maximum points in the last 2 games.
