Albion 4-2 Killowen

De Courcey Albion made a huge stride in guaranteeing division 2 football with an excellent 2nd half display in torrential conditions at Eli Lilly. Albionmhad the share of the ball in the first half and tim was unlucky not to put Albion one up on a few occasions. Harrington was joined up front by Conan dillon who caused all sorts of hassle for Killowen with some fantastic through balls. 0-0 half time.

Albion stormed into the second half creating chances in the opening minutes. It paid off as Harrington latched onto a ball and slipped it past the Killowen keeper. The ball trickled in off the post. Harrington made it 2-0 turning the defender and hitting a sweet strike in low to the keepers left to grab his 30th goal of the season. JP Hayes made it 3-0 with a cracking left footed strike from 25 yards into the top right. A contender for goal of the season. Killowen grabbed one back through unfortunate circumstances as james O’Driscolls attempted clearance sailed in over mike Walshs head. Jason o’riordan has spent 2/3’s of the season on the injury list but made it 4-1 with his first touch after coming on as a sub. Tim Harrington did the hard work taking it past 3 Killowen players and squaring the ball for Jason to tap home. With 2 minutes to go Killowen got a 2nd when Albion fell asleep at a short free kick allowing Killowen to strike home. Albion can put the ghosts of the previous 5 games behind them after picking up all 3 points with a great performance. Albion need 1 more point to see themselves safe for the season. Team.
