Glen Celtic 1-2 ALBION

Albion picked up another valuable 3 points today after an extremely hard fought win against a tough Glen Celtic side but left it to the last minute to win.

They started off playing well using the 4-5-1 formation to a good advantage using the wings and space well. Glen Celtic then started playing themselves back into the game creating a string of chances that were kept at bay by an impressive Albion back 4. Albion found the net after some great work on the left between Conor Hurley & John Duggan, Hurley swung the ball in to find Noel Twomey who made it 1-0 to the visitors. Michael Walsh made a very impressive save just before the half time whistle to keep Albion in the lead.

The second half started well for Albion, JP Hayes was displaying his skill in centre mid & Conan Dillon was winning the majority of the ball in the centre also. John Duggan & John Hipwell both had chances to score but just fell short. With 15 minutes to go a mix up gifted Glen Celtic with a tap in to make it 1-1. John Duggan went on to hit the crossbar with a superb strike from a good 25 yards out.

At this stage Albion had gone to 4-4-2 style pushing Rob Daly up front with John Duggan. Both strikers caused hassle and looked as if they were going to restore Albions lead. Duggan converted a free with 4 minutes left after wrong footing the keeper. Albion closed the game out well with some grit & determination all over the park.
