Greenwood 1-1 Albion

De Courcey Albion today earned only their 2nd draw of the season against Togher opponents, Greenwood. The game started brightly but Greenwood had more of the attack leaving Albion to defend in numbers for spells. On 25 mins James O’Drsicoll but the visitors 1-0 up with a lovely right footed curl into the top corner. But the work was in vain when 5 minutes later from a header Greenwood equalised. The game was held up for 10 minutes when Albion midfield maestro Jason O’Riordan was split open from a clash of heads. 1-1 at half time.

The second half was all Greenwood, they were using the flanks well and seemed to open albion up at times. David Butler & Colm O’Donovan were putting in solid performances to keep them at bay. Greenwood had 2/3 shots and other opportunities to go ahead but couldn’t capitalise. A draw for an Albion team who were lucky to come away with a result. 1 game to go in the league for the Albion against league hopefuls Leeside in the coming weeks.
