De Courcey Albion today won their 2nd away game in a row with a hard fought 3-2 win over St. John Boscos. They made hard work of it in the end after being 3-0 up with 20 minutes to go. Boscos started the more settled looking of the 2 teams and created a couple of chances but nothing that breached the defence. After a jittery opening 15 minutes Albion started to work the ball well and eased into the game with great work on the wings from Noel Twomey & JP Hayes. On 30 mins Noel Twomey got his 4th of the season to make it 1-0 to the visitors at half time.
From the beginning of the 2nd half Martin Ryan hoisted a kick upfiled causing confusion between the defenders and goalkeepers resulting in Ronan O’Driscoll being taken down inside the area. Jody MacNamara stepped up to score his 1st of the season with a really well take penalty. Another mix up in the defence caused Ronan O’Driscoll to tap the ball in to make it 3-0 to Albion on 70 mins. A lack of communication gifted Boscos their first goal and two minutes later they had a 2nd after a great finish from their striker. Albion changed to 5-4-1 for the last 10 as St. Johns threw everything at them. They stayed firm and held out for a 3-2 win with great performances from all players in the closing part of the 2nd half.
