RATHCOOLE 0-3 DE COURCEY ALBION

De Courcey Albion progressed to the 2nd round of the County Cup with a convincing 3-0 victory over Rathcoole Rovers “B” away from home. The game started brightly for the visitors as they foud themselves a goal to the good within 10 minutes through James O’Driscoll, who was playing on the left wing today in the absence of injured Noel Twomey. Rathcoole slowed ease their way into the game after some nice passages of play in midfield. But their work was to no avail when on 40′ Ronan O’Driscoll doubled the lead after some lovely one touch football rom James O’Driscoll, Michael Walsh, Seamus O’Callaghan & John Duggan. 2-0 to Albion at half time.

The 2nd half started with Rathcoole on the attack. Declan Murray, Colm Walsh, Ger O’Connell, Conor Hurley & Jody MacNamara were up to the task of keeping a clean sheet as ball after ball was cleared or sent wide. With 20 minutes left on the clock Ronan O’Driscoll added a 3rd goal for the Albion and doubled his own tally for the day. The game ended with Albion very much on top giving them a well deserved victory
