2013/2014 Season

Albion kick off proceedings in Cork AUL Div 2 this weekend to division newcomers Newmarket Town at Ballinadee. Newmarket enjoyed a successful  season last year finishing as runners up in Div 3 and eventually winning the round robin promotion play-off. They also had an outing at Turners Cross only to be beaten by a very strong Glen Celtic B side in the final of the divisional cup.

Albion will be wary of their opponents, who will have nothing to lose. Though Albion have been seriously boosted with the news of Daniel Galvin re-signing for the full season. Also, John Hipwell & Noel Twomeys return to the squad will be sure to give everyone a lift. Some great individual form in pre-season from Rob Daly (4 goals in 2), Darren Daly, Ger O’Connell & Conor Hurley is also hugely positive.

The 2nd round of the league sees Albion with a torturous Thursday evening drive to Rylane for 6:45pm kick off. The last time the sides met in this fixture, Rylane were 4-1 victors. Albion will be looking to turn this around as they seek a somewhat more successful season than last.

KICK OFF this Sunday morning Vs Newmarket in Ballinadee is 10:45am.
