Albion came home with a point in the bag after a tough 2-2 draw with Donoughmore, Both teams went into the game needing a win, Donoughmore to move into the automatic promotion places & Albion to stand any chance of league glory. Both teams moved it around well from the start with the earliest chance falling to Tim, taking a step in past 2 players and shooting wide of the post. Donoughmore had their own chances, having a massive height advantage in centre mid they were winning a lot of ball. Their striker & supporting striker both had chances but made nothing of it. Walshys first call to action was from a free kick when he caught a ball heading for the top corner. Albions goal came from a Declan Murray pass, from his own half he caught out the Donoughmore defenders and found Tim who ran onto it and lobbed the keeper to make it 1-0. It was almost 2-0 with an exact replica of the first goal, once again a pass from Deccy that timmy latched onto and almost lobbed in again. The home side were almost back in it when they struck the crossbar just before half time.

Albion had a disastrous opening 10 minutes the second half which saw them go 2-1 down. The first, a very scrappy goal that their striker poked home and the second, a counter attack that left their striker with a 1 on 1. Albion woke up after the second goal, realising their need to, at least, come away with a draw. Albion played some great football through this period. Conor Hurley, James O’Driscoll, Dan Gal and Japs all linking well together. Albion won a free kick on the left after Japs was fouled and then booked (make sense of that). James took a lovely low curling free kick that found its way towards the front post where Timmy was on it like a flash to make it 2-2. Albion didn’t sit back, they went on the attack more for the win but it wasn’t to be.
