Albion 1-4 City Wanderers

Albion can put last nights 4-1 defeat at home to City Wanderers down to experience as they match the city team for 75 minutes of the game with chances to make the game their own. Wanderers opened the scoring after 2 minutes with a fortunate shot that lobbed Walsh in goal. Albion went on the offensive and within 3 minutes were level after James O’Driscoll broke forward from left full crossing for Martin El-sahen to get off the mark for the season. The game was fairly even for the rest of the half with Wanderers shading the posession though Albion almost went in front when Tim Harrington hit the bar with a lofted header from a Noel Twomey corner.

The second half was a lively encounter as Martin El-sahen beat the keeper and almost scored all for a wanderers defender who came to their rescue. The turning point came with 15 on the clock as Colm O’Donovan was deemed to have handled the ball deliberately in the box, a very shady decision by the ref. Wanderers went 2-1 up after converting the penalty, the last 10 minutes of the game saw Albion fall 4-1 behind, a scoreline which doesnt reflect the game at all.
